How to take Telefast (Allegra)

Telefast Allegra Fexofenadine is available in 180mg tablets. For people 12 and older the normal recommended dose is 60mg or 120mg twice daily.

Telefast (Allegra) precautions

You should not take Telefast if you have retained urine, narrow angle glaucoma, severe high blood pressure, heart disease, or if you have taken MAO inhibitors (depression medication) within the last 14 days. If you experience an allergic reaction to Allegra such as difficulty breathing or swelling of the lips, tongue, or face, discontinue use and seek medical attention immediately. Do not take Telefast Allegra Fexofenadine with antacids that contain aluminum or magnesium such as Rolaids, Magnesia, and/or Pepcid Complete. These antacids may decrease the effectiveness of Allegra.

What to tell your doctor

Before you begin taking Telefast, tell your doctor if you have a serious illness such as heart disease, kidney disease, or liver disease. Also, if you are pregnant or nursing talk to your doctor about potential risks to the fetus or baby.

Less serious side effects that may occur while you are taking Telefast Allegra Fexofenadine include: headache, cold, coughing, back pain, flu, nausea, menstrual pain, insomnia, and/or drowsiness.
